Day 1

SANTA CRUZ/ ARRIVAL

Day 2

SANTA CRUZ – SAN JOSE DE CHIQUITOS

Departure for the mission of San José de Chiquitos, lunch and check-in at Hotel La Villa Chiquitana. A lovely hotel with a touch of Provence! (4h30 to 5h drive). During your stay, you will visit various cultural pascanas along the SaboreArte Chiquitos route. You will enjoy a cultural experience in the homes of local Chiquitania artists and artisans, where you will learn different craft techniques and sample local gastronomy. After lunch on the terrace, meet Juanita and her wood-burning stove at the pascana "La Siesta del Posoka". She will teach you how to bake rice bread, cook mate in the traditional way and enjoy it with "Pan de arroz". You will then set off for a short hike in the Serranía El Riquío mountain range to discover the Chiquitana dry forest from the Montañeta lookout (easy, very accessible walk). Day 3

SAN JOSE DE CHIQUITOS

Departure for the village of Chochis (1h00 drive) to discover the imposing red stone tower known as the "Davide Tower". At its foot stands the sanctuary of the Virgin Mariano de la Torre or Sanctuary of Chochis, adorned with beautiful wood carvings. A haven of peace at the foot of the Chiquitos mountain range, it bears witness to the legacy left by the Jesuits. Then it's back on the road to Tucaba Park (1h00), a nature reserve surrounded by greenery and mountains. We take a beautiful hike (1h30, accessible to all) to the Antesala del Cielo viewpoint. We then head for Santiago de Chiquitos (20 minutes) for lunch and a visit to the Santiago de Chiquitos church, part of the Misiones Jesuites. We end the day in Aguas Calientes, where we enjoy a relaxing bath in the healing thermal waters. At the end of this tour, we return to the hotel (2h30), where you can enjoy the magnificent swimming pool.

Day 4

SAN JOSE DE CHIQUITOS – SANTA CRUZ - TARIJA

In the morning, visit the church of San José de Chiquitos, accompanied by Friné Torric, a professional restorer. Guided tour of the stone church and the mission museum with its unique murals. The mission houses paintings dating back over 300 years. This is also where you will learn about the Jesuit organization. Afterwards, you will visit another cultural pascana to continue sharing with the artisans. You'll meet Pythagoras and his pascana "La Tranquera". He will show you step by step how to make the traditional Abuelo masks, made from the roots of the Toco tree. These masks are derived from the Abuelos Chiquitanos dance, in which they mock the "white men". You'll also taste the famous chicha, made from corn, peanuts, manioc or rice, sometimes with the addition of fruit. Enjoy a gourmet 4-course lunch featuring local specialties. Afternoon free to enjoy a stroll around the village or simply relax by the pool. Departure for Santa Cruz after lunch. Flight Santa Cruz-Tarija. Welcome and transfer to your hotel.

Day 5

TARIJA / VINEYARDS

Departure for an excursion around the town of Tarija. A favorable climate and well-exposed highlands (1800 m alt.) enable the production of excellent wines and the renowned Singani. You will visit the Jamones Ulloa factory, where we will explain all the stages in the production of Serrano hams made in this magnificent finca. Taste their hams, cheeses and the wine they make. We continue with a visit to Bodega Daroca, the best place to learn about the traditional methods of making wine and Singani. Tasting of their best wines with a variety of hams, cheeses and "locoto" jam, a perfect match guaranteed! Lunch at the bodega. We then continue with a visit to Bodega Magnus, discovering their factory rich in history and tasting their wines. Afternoon to enjoy the "Chura Tarija", the garden and the swimming pool of the Los Parrales hotel.

Day 6

TARIJA – TUPIZA

In the morning, we head off to Jardin de Lajas. A magnificent wooded park. Guided tour of the "Jardin de Lajas" vineyard by our passionate oenologist. You will meet Mr. Jurgen, who has meticulously and passionately designed his garden - a masterpiece! Each plant has been carefully selected and placed to create a harmonious balance within the ecosystem. Discover his small meditation and production area, as well as his beautiful terrace. Taste the uniquely aromatic, high-altitude wines. Lunch in the estate garden. Return to Tarija. Depart early afternoon for the town of Tupiza (approx. 5-hour drive).

Day 7

TUPIZA / HORSERIDE

Departure on horseback for la Quebrada Palmira. Passage to la Porte Diable before joining la Quebrada Seca and its very beautiful colored canyons. Continuation to the site of Toroyoj on the banks of the Río San Juan de Oro. Return to Tupiza via La Torre, Entre Ríos and the famous site of Angosto .

Day 8

TUPIZA – UYUNI - COLCHANI

In the morning, we continue our tour of the Tupiza area. Departure in a private 4x4 vehicle to the Quebrada de Palala (4,200 m), where we discover the great multicolored vertical walls against a backdrop of breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. A little further on, stop at the Sillar, a magnificent canyon sculpted by rain and wind. Departure by private 4x4 vehicle to Uyuni. Then on to the village of Colchani, gateway to the Salar de Uyuni. Overnight in Colchani.

Day 9

COLCHANI – UYUNI SALT FLATS – COLCHANI

In the morning, your photographer picks you up at your hotel to take you first to the train cemetery on the outskirts of town. Then we arrive at the Salar d'Uyuni, which, even if it had been hoped for and impatiently awaited, even if it had been glimpsed in photos, is beyond imagination. Its immaculate surface, a virgin land for everyone's dreams. Dotted with rare islands, you'll find vantage points from which to observe, photograph, picnic... and, above all, meditate on the beauty of the world. Discover Incahuasi Island with a short walk (approx. 45 minutes) along a small path. The island is home to numerous cacti that have magically appeared here...magnificent. Photoshoot. COLCHANI - UYUNI SALT FLATS / PHOTOSHOOT

COLCHANI – LA PAZ

LA PAZ - MOON VALLEY - CITY TOUR

Departure to first reach the Moon Valley by private vehicle. Walk in a geological labyrinth composed of clay and interspersed by deep chasms … a work of art, similar to a desert of stalagmites. Departure for the historic center of the city of La Paz.A short break is needed for a Bolivian dining experience at Ali Pacha Restaurant. Its fine and refined cuisine will surprise you.Afternoon devoted to a walking tour of La Paz to soak up the atmosphere of this surprising and endearing city. Discovery of traditional colorful markets, the colonial district, Plaza Murillo or calle Jaen , the most beautiful colonial street in La Paz. To end this beautiful day, dine at the Gustu restaurant , one of the best restaurants in South America . It offers both national and international “gourmet” gastronomy. Its "tasting" menu will delight your taste buds, with a menu that is both sophisticated and authentic, using the ancestral knowledge of traditional cuisine and the products offered by the Bolivian land.
